  The Introduction of Computer Science and Technology Department

  The Department of Computer Science and Technology (CST) was formally established in 1985, and obtained the right to grant secondary level master’s degree of Computer Science and Technology in 2000. The department was approved as a provincial-level key discipline in 2005, and gained the right to grant first level master’s degree of Computer Science and Technology in 2011. The Computer Application Technology and Software Engineering undergraduate major is listed in the first admissions sequence group of National College Entrance Examination in 2013.

  Currently, there are 37 academic staffs in the department, including 12 staffs with their doctorates and one post-doctoral. The department has 7 professors and 11 associate professors. There are two undergraduate majors: the one is Computer Science and Technology, and the other is Software Engineering. The department also has the right to grant the first level master’s degree of Computer Science and Technology and Computer Technology.

  The main research areas of CST department include computer detection and control technology, information fusion, software development and optimization, database and data mining, Intelligent Information processing, and cloud computing. The department also has some minor research areas such as natural language processing, digital library, social networks and micro-blog calculation, parallel computing, software theory, graphics and image processing, and so on.

   As for teaching, the CST department is awarded as key unit of undergraduate teaching of Hebei Province . It has a provincial classic course, 2 university-level classic courses, a university-level outstanding teacher, and a university level demonstration lesson. As for research, the staffs have done a number of national research projects and received research funding from National "863" Project, National Natural Science Foundation, Hebei Natural Science Foundation, and Hebei Science and Technology Program. Many achievements are appreciated internationally. The department also has a considerable number of papers published in international academic journals. The graduates have high employment rate and good social recognition.

The Introduction of Department of Electronic Engineering

 

     The Department of Electronic Engineering was established in 1984 as one of the earliest departments in Hebei University of Science and Technology. In its long-term practice of teaching and research, the department has trained a large number of outstanding graduates with solid foundation of basic knowledge and ability of engineering practice.

The department has 22 academic staffs and 7 of them have their doctorates. There are 3 professors and 10 associate professors. Over the past few years, the department has developed into a group with ability to carry out specialized theoretical teaching and practical training. There are four main research areas, which are Beidou Navigation System, Power-Saving Powers, Automotive Electronics and Advanced Sensors.

There are two undergraduate programs in the department: Electronic Information Engineering, Electronic Science and Technology. Every year it enrolls over 140 undergraduate students. Now there are three master’s programs: Measuring Technology and Instrument, Circuits and Systems, and Electronic and Communication Engineering. Every year it enrolls over 30 full-time postgraduate students.

In the past few years, the department is in charge of many teaching and research projects, including two National Natural Science Foundation projects, two Hebei Province Natural Science Foundations projects, 8 Hebei Province Technology Research and Development Programs projects and more than 20 provincial-level projects. More than fifty research papers are published in SCI or EI indexed journals such as Measuring Technology and Instrument, International Journal of Modeling, Identification and Control, Rare Metal Materials and Engineering, Journal of Electronic Materials, and so on.

The Introduction of Communication Engineering Department

 

The Department of Communication Engineering was formally established in 1996. Currently, our faculty includes 18 members, among which there are 2 full professors, 7 associate professors and 6 master degree supervisors, and while the student body has 800 undergraduate students and 50 Master candidates. Have the first batch undergraduate enrollment specialty of communication engineering and master degree granted right of communication and information.

Over the last years, the department has developed into one teaching team with the ability to carry out specialized theoretical teaching and practical teaching. Adhere to the "student-oriented and talent first". We encourage foster their abilities for innovation and practice. The students attended a number of academic competitions and won the national awards such as the National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest and National Technological Contest for College Student,

In recent years, communication engineering professional teachers have taken charge of many teaching and scientific research subjects, which include 1 provincial-level teaching research projects, 1 Natural Science Foundations of Hebei Province of China, 5 Technology Research and Development Programs of Hebei Province of China and 5 bureau-level projects, 20 corporate technology reform projects. More than 80 research papers are published in EI indexing journals such as "High Technology Letters""Journal of Electronics & Information Technology", "Journal of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China", and so on.

   




The Introduction of Network Engineering
Department

 

The Department of Network Engineering (DNE) was formally established in 2004. Currently, there are 13 faculties in the DNE. Among them, there are 2 full professors, 3 associate professors, and 4 master’s degree supervisors. Over the past few years, the DNE has developed into a teaching group with the ability to carry out specialized theoretical teaching and practical teaching. There are three main research areas: Network Security, Intelligent Information Processing, and Mobile Application Development.

In recent years, the staffs have taken charge of many teaching and scientific research projects, including 2 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 2 Hebei Province Natural Science Foundation projects, 8 Technology Research and Development Programs of Hebei Province, 2 Provincial Teaching projects, and other 10 provincial-level projects. More than 50 research papers are published in SCI or EI indexed journals such as IET Communications, Chinese Journal of Computers, Journal on Communications, and etc.
