Information Schoolof HEBUST appointed professor to Suceava Stefan cel Mare Universityto participate European Union-funded project "Erasmus Project"
In order to promote the development of international education of Hebei University of Science and Technology and to promote the academic exchanges between China and foreign countries, professor Kai Gao from Information School of our school went to Suceava Stefan cel Mare University, Romania for the Erasmus Project. This is the first time of our university to send teachers for the EU Erasmus Project, aimingtoenhance the academic exchanges and cooperation between universities within Europe and other countries. In 2018, our university signed a cooperation agreement with Suceava Stefan cel Mare University in Romania, and professor Kai Gao was the first group for the "Erasmus Project".
During visiting, professor Kai Gao presentedsome basic concepts of data science and data mining. He also introduced the application of machine learning and deep learning in large data analysis and mining. The contents covered the basic concepts of data science, the usage of common extension libraries based on Python, and the data analysis based on Python and Scikit-Learn libraries. He also presented the data feature selection and data cleaning & pre-processing strategies. Besides, classification and clustering algorithm and some applications are also present in the end. In the discussion with the relevant researches and teachers, professor Kai Gao also presented HEBUST’s research works on AI, big data search and mining, natural language processing and other aspects.
