Breakthroughs achieved in the China Postgraduate Innovation & Practice Competitions by our school
On September 26th, the national finals of "GigaDevice Innovation Cup" i.e., the 17th China Graduate Electronics Design Contest came to an end. Graduate students Li Meng, Shen Yuejian and Zhang Junqiang from our school supervised by Prof. Ma Jinlong and Prof. Zhang Yongqiang won the award of Hebei Province"Best Road Show" and the National First Prize by the group work called "Yeying Elderly Care System". This National First Prize achieved a historic breakthrough for Hebust and our school also won the honorary title of excellent organization unit of this contest for the first time. In addition, our graduate students also won 6 Second Prizes and 3 Third Prizes in the North China Division.
China Graduate Electronics Design Contest co-sponsored by the Chinese Institute of Electronics and Tsinghua University, is one of the series of contests of China Postgraduate Innovation & Practice Competitions. The purpose of the competition is to encourage innovation, encourage entrepreneurship, improve the general quality and strengthen comprehensive practice. It has been successfully held for 26 years since 1996, and has now developed into an effective platform for postgraduates in electronic information-related disciplines to cultivate innovation and entrepreneurship awareness, enhance team spirit, improve practical ability, and promote the all-around growth of young innovative and entrepreneurial talents.
The 17th China Graduate Electronics Design Contest of "GigaDevice Innovation Cup" is guided by the Department of Degree Management and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education and the Degree and Postgraduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education. This competition is co-hosted by China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Society, China Association Center of Youth Science and Technology, and China Institute of Electronics. The competition was officially started in April 2022. More than 5,800 teams including more than 24,000 graduate students from more than 270 universities and research institutes across the country had signed up for the competition. After fierce competition with a nearly 92% elimination rate in the eight major sub-divisions of Northeast China, North China, Northwest China, Central China, East China, Shanghai, South China, and Southwest China, 579 teams advanced to the national finals. Competition Evaluation Committee strict assessment and selected a total of 131 first prizes, 190 Second Prizes, 253 Third Prizes, 8 Best Roadshow Awards, 8 most investment value awards and 21 outstanding papers.
In order to prepare for this competition, our school has been affirmed with strong support, wide publicity and elaborating organization. Superivors and participating students had made every effort to prepare for the competition, and made a strong competition atmosphere which improved the overall competition level, and vigorously promoted the innovation and entrepreneurship work of our graduate students.
