HEBUST School of Information and Engineering held the software engineering sub-forum of the 1st China-Newzeland HEBUST-UoW joint engineering research forum
Thesoftware engineering sub-forum of the first HEBUST-UoW joint engineering research forumheld by Hebei University of Science and Technology (HEBUST) and the Newzeland University of Waikato (UoW) was successfully held on April 17, 2018,inroom A302 of theadministrative building. The sub-forum was hosted by Prof. Zhang Dongwen, the associate dean of Information Engineering College, HEBUST. During the forum, Prof. Michael Cree and Prof. Robi Malik of University of Waikato and Prof. Gao Kai and Dr. Bai Yu of the Department of Computer Science inHEBUST presented their research works on artificial intelligence-based image analysis applications, formal verification of complex discrete systems,social network sentiment analysis and model-based design of safety-critical software systemsrespectively. During the presentations, participants from both countrieshadwarmdiscussionson the corresponding topics. At the end, Prof. Zhang Dongwen and Prof. Yifan Chen, the vice-deanof the University of Waikato's School of Engineering, summed up the sub-forum, and put forward the prospects for cooperation in scientific researchin the field of information science between the two universities, and reached a preliminary consensuson exchanging students and jointeducationwhichsets a solid foundation for further cooperation in the future. The expected results areachieved in the forum.This academic exchange event is yet another result of the Information and Engineering College’s adherence in recent yearsto open education, innovative thinking, and win-win cooperation. It will also provide strong support for the future education and scientific research work of the Informationand Engineering College.
