The School of Information Science and Technology has successfully held the CCF-NLP Academic Activities

On November 8, 2020, the "CCF-NLP Enters Universities" sponsored by CCF Natural Language Processing Committee of China Computer Society (CCF-NLP) and AI Institute took the academic exchanges activity in the School of Information & Technology, Hebei University of Science and Technology(i.e., HEBUST). Due to the Covid19, the report adopted the combination of online broadcasting (e.g., AI Institute, Tencent Conference and Bilibili) and offline academic exchanges together.

In the academic exchanges activity, we invited A. Prof. Shu-Jian Huang from NanJing University, A. Prof. Zhou Zhao from ZheJiang University and Prof. Yue Zhang from West Lake University to present their research results to us. Three researchers has shared their achievements on the attention mechanism in machine translation, the anti-autoregressive multimodal translation, and the QA dialogue system. The professor Dongwen Zhang, the dean of the School of Information science and Technology of HEBUST, and the professor Xiaojun Wan from Peking University, have chaired the academic exchanges activity. The online report has been viewed more than several thousand times on platforms such as AI Institute and Bilibili. In the offline academic exchange, students also put forward many questions and experts answered them one by one. The report has achieved the desired effect.
