Cyberspace Security Undergraduate Major
The Cyberspace Security Major is newly founded in 2021, whose predecessor was the Network Engineering Major. The Cyberspace Security major is designed to cultivate students who can meet the constantly changing needs of the digital security field. It is structured to provide a solid foundation in mathematics, natural sciences, and computer science, while also emphasizing hands-on practical skills, systems analysis, and development capabilities. The program fosters students’ engineering innovation, social responsibility, and the ability to engage in international exchange, preparing students to excel in roles such as security R&D, operations, and penetration testing. Its ultimate goal is nurturing high-quality, innovative talents capable of undertaking significant tasks in medium to small-scale projects or engineering projects in Cyberspace Security. This program have been achieved through a combination of rigorous academic training and practical, hands-on experiences that equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to address the challenges in the field of cyberspace security. The teaching process strongly emphasizes collaborative internships with well-known companies in the field. These internships form a crucial component of the program, aimed at deepening the industry-education integration and significantly enhancing the practical training experience for students.
In recent years, the university has seen the active participation of renowned domestic companies in the Cyberspace Security major’s internships. Notably, companies such as 360, Qi An Xin, and Tianrongxin have shown increasing interest in these win-win internships. Therefore, they often contact universities in advance to inviting students entering companies for professional internships. This has led to further collaboration in various areas. The involvement of such prominent companies in the Cyberspace Security major’s internships significantly enhances the practical learning experience, making the students well-prepared for their future careers in Cyberspace Security. The feedback from both faculty and participating companies has been overwhelmingly positive. Teachers are very optimistic about the positive impact of professional internships and have made sufficient preparations in advance for the internships. Students have reported that teachers provided careful guidance and that there have been no safety issues during the internship period.
